Sometimes people get confused about whether or not they can wait and be stood still in a Box junction. The simple answer is YES, but only if you’re exiting to the right of the box, and if that road to the right is clear.

So if you want to turn right, but you can’t turn just yet because you’re giving way to oncoming traffic, then it’s fine to wait in the box. There’s no restrictions on how many people can wait in the box, but you usually only have room for a couple of vehicles at a time.

If you’re exiting left or straight out of the box you should NEVER be stood still waiting for a gap, as you might end up blocking the junction. Get in touch with me if you need any help with this. Safe driving!
