Hi folks, there’s sometimes a bit of confusion about which lane to approach a roundabout in, when you have a choice of two lanes going up to the roundabout. Let’s make it easy for you to decide by just doing these TWO simple but useful things;
- First of all, look for signs on the floor and up above to see if it tells you which lane to approach in. In this example let’s look for the Reddish exit. The first sign tells us that Reddish is the second exit, and the next sign tells us to approach it in the right hand lane – straight forward so far?
- Then, if there’s no signs telling you which lane to approach in, make your decision based on WHERE your exit is (not which number the exit is). So if you’re taking any of the exits that are left or straight, approach in the left hand lane, and if you’re taking any of the exits to the right, approach in the right hand lane.
