The best way to prepare for your practical driving test is to practice as much as you possibly can!

Regular driving lessons (at least one per week) with an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) is a great start, and if you can practice with a friend or family member (visit the gov.uk website for guidelines on this) you’ll gain much more confidence, and therefore be test-ready even sooner.

You’ll need to know the rules of the road, but also be able to make your own decisions on how to be safe on our busy roads.

Start practicing in quiet areas, then build up to busier areas with more tricky junctions. Always practice your manoeuvres (reversing) in quiet places, and really take your time with them. It’s harder to see when reversing, so don’t rush it.
